Architectural and Structural Engineering Drawings set benchmarks for the construction process and ensure they comply with building standards. Architectural and Structural Engineering Drawings play an integral role in the development and construction of a building. So, know how to identify the difference between architectural and structural engineering drawings.

Architectural drawings show what a building is to look like, and how spaces are laid out (rooms, hallways, elevators). They include information about handicap accessibility, and emergency exiting. Depending on the size of the building, they might also show lighting, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression information.

For larger buildings those things are left to mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and plumbing and fire protection engineers, who will produce their own drawings. Architectural drawings include information about doors, windows, wall and floor and ceiling finishes. Architectural drawings may also include furniture.

Structural drawings show the parts of the building essential to “hold the building up.” Foundations, columns, beams, bearing walls and shear walls, floor and roof joists, etc. All the parts that make sure it doesn’t fall down due to snow, wind, earthquakes, and loads inside the building. For some buildings, blast loads are also considered.

While both architecture and structural design involve the construction of buildings, architecture can also include a more aesthetic focus than structural drawing. Structural engineering focuses on the math and physics required for making a strong and safe exoskeleton for a building.

BUILDING FROM SCRATCH DRAWINGS

We provide contemporary architectural drawings & designs as part of our services, if you don't have one already. As part of our free online application form, you will be required to state whether you need sample designs or not. If you're building from scratch, all drawings (together with procuring building permits) are included in the project cost at no upfront fees.

UNCOMPLETED PROJECT DRAWINGS

You're expected to have procured a valid building permit with your own qualified drawings before you start building in the first place - But as it's increasingly becoming common, most people coming to us with this option, don't even have drawings let alone building permit. You must get a valid building permit with qualified drawings before we can continue your uncompleted project for you.

You're free to make any professional do the drawings and permit procurement for you. However, if you need us to do those pre-requisites for you before continuing your project, it will be charged separately and paid upfront.
